Ralph F. Rayburn

Ralph was born in Evansville, Indiana and raised in the Midwest. He received his undergraduate education at
the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He went on to law school at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
While in law school, Ralph was Executive Editor of the Law Review and upon graduation worked for Judge
Leslie Boslaugh on the Nebraska Supreme Court.
Ralph is licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington, and Nebraska. He came to Portland in 1981 and began
working for a large litigation defense firm in Portland.
Ralph went on to work in an insurance litigation practice and went into partnership with local attorney Don
McClain. He thereafter was a partner in a labor and employment litigation firm. Ralph has represented
plaintiffs in personal injury, professional negligence, and employment matters exclusively on the
plaintiff's side for over 15 of the 32 years he has practiced. He has tried over 125 civil jury trials to
verdict. He has been rated as an A-V Preeminent Trial Attorney with martindale.com and is in the Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers. Ralph has also been
named as a Super Lawyer.
Ralph is married to his best friend Mary Anne Rayburn who is an attorney in Portland as well. He has two
grown children, Sam and Joe. Sam attended the University of California on a basketball scholarship and is
currently a law student at Willamette University. Joe is an undergraduate at Pacific Lutheran University
where he plays soccer.
